Our Wax Melts

What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are scented pieces of wax. They can come in various different shapes and sizes.

A wax melt can give off a slight scent when cold; however, they are designed to be slowly warmed using a wax melt burner.

Our wax melts work best in a tea light burner but can also be used with an electric burner.

What wax do you use for your wax melts?

We use 100% pure soy wax.

Which is additive free, biodegradable and also vegan friendly!

Can I use your wax melts/home fragrance around my children or pets?

They are! But whilst our wax melts and home fragrance are safe to use around both children and pets, we would recommend keeping these out of their reach.

Is the wax melt packaging recyclable?

Yes! Our wax melt packaging is made from 85% recycled plastic and is also 100% recyclable.

To encourage recycling of our packaging we have made our labels with easy-peel stickers! So once you've finished with the wax melt, you can peel off the sticker, rinse out the clamshell and pop it straight into your recycling!

Using Our Wax Melts

How should I burn my wax melts?

Our wax melts can be used both in tealight and electric burners.

However to enjoy the best from our wax melts we highly recommend a tealight burner. This is because they reach a much higher temperature than most electric burners on the market. This in turn means the scent will be stronger and more noticable.

How long can I burn a segment of wax?

Our wax melts are fragranced to the highest percentage which means you can get at least 60+ hours of amazing fragrance from one snap bar!

Pretty amazing if we do say so ourselves!

But with that being said, you can change your wax melt as frequently as you like!

We recommend only burning your wax melt at 4 hour increments to get the most of the scent. Please also ensure you are using a 4 hour tealight.

Why is my wax melt smoking?

As long as the smoke is clear or white, this is nothing to worry about and is actually a good sign of a good wax fragrance! The smoke is actually vapour and is the fragrance oil burning out and giving you a great fragrance throw.

However if you are worried please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.

How do I change my wax melt?

Once you feel the fragrance has gone from your wax or you just fancy a change, there are a few different methods you can use to change your wax melt.

Our preferred method is to pop a tealight under the burner as normal for around 30 seconds, putting a small amount of pressure on the wax melt, this should slide right out of the burner.

We then recommend giving your burner a quick wipe with some tissue or a cotton pad and then you are good to go!

Alternatively if you wish to change your wax melt when you wax is already burnt down in the burner, you can blow out the candle and soak up the wax with tissue or a cotton pad. However please be careful as the wax will still be warm!

If you wish to clean your burner with water, please ensure that the burner is fully dry before you next use this as any if any remnants of water are left behind this can affect the next wax you decide to burn.

Orders and Delivery

Can I place an order without creating an account?

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account. We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time. Where is my order confirmation?

This is automatically sent to your email address when you place an order. If you haven’t received your order confirmation within 24 hours, please get in touch at contact@lakeswaxco.co.uk just in case there’s a problem with your order. Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

Why has my order been cancelled?

We typically only cancel orders if there’s a problem with stock, or if you’ve asked us to cancel. Please accept our apologies if your order is cancelled because of a problem at our end. We’ll always offer an alternative product and process your refund in full, as quickly as possible.

How do I cancel my order?

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via contact@lakeswaxco.co.uk, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed. If not, we’ll despatch your order and then you can return it to us if you wish upon receiving it.

Unfortunately we cannot cancel or amend any orders which are being processed.
*Amendments include: merging orders, adding discount codes, amending products on the order and also a change of address.*

When will my order arrive?

Our order processing period is currently 3-5 working days - however orders do tend to be processed much sooner.

Delivery times will vary dependant on the service you have selected upon checkout.

How can I track my parcel?

All parcels, unless stated otherwise, are sent on a non-tracked service with Royal Mail.
We use this service in order to keep our postage prices as affordable as possible for our customers.

However the service we use does provide you with a delivery reference which will be sent to you upon the dispatch of your order.
This will be updated once the delivery has been delivered or attempted for delivery.

I haven't received my order?

We are sorry to hear you are yet to receive your order.

If your order has been dispatched and it has been 10 working days (does not include weekends) since the dispatch date please do contact us along with your order reference number and we can look into this for you.

My order has arrived damaged/incorrect.

We are so sorry to hear this.

Please contact us at your earliest convenience along with your order reference number and photos of the damage or incorrect item.

Returns

Can I return an item?

You can absolutely return your item to us. Should you wish to make a return, please contact us on contact@lakeswaxco.com along with your order reference number.
Please make sure this is done within 14 working days of your delivery.

Gift Options

Can I add a Gift Note to my order?

Absolutely!

When visiting your basket on our website you will see the following entry box with the caption:

"Order note or gift message (don't forget to include "from...")"

If you enter your note there we will be sure to add this to your parcel for you - along with removing any invoices/pricing information.

Can you gift wrap my order?

We're so sorry however this is not a service we are able to offer at the moment.

However please be assured that here at Lakes Wax & Co we are perfectionists and ALL of our orders are sent out in a presentable manor.
